here’s the thing: people don’t like to read.
sure, if you’re devouring dickens, you probably do like to read. but scrolling through social or an endless sea of websites? probably not as much.
how often do you take the time to “read more,” or go below the fold? as a reader, you need to be enticed.
as a writer, it’s your job to seduce - especially when you have a lot to say.
so, hit ‘em hard in that first sentence; pack a punch in just a few words.
give ‘em an appetizer that’ll make ‘em stay through dessert.
